A fine quality late 17th century oak court cupboard, circa 1680-1690, with exceptional colour and patination. The top section with carved nulled decorative frieze, flanked by turned drop pendants.
Also, the top section incorporates a central fixed panel with raised diamond shaped detail between two beautifully carved pin-hinged doors..
The lower section of the cupboard incorporates two large doors with carved nulled panels. Constructed entirely with pegged mortise & tenon pegged joints. Original iron butterfly hinges.

All internal heavy hand -hewn Oak planked construction in excellent condition. The Court cupboard was considered an important and prestigious item of furniture from the 16th to 17th century. Use to store many of the most valuable & essential household utensils.
Cabinet measures: 144cm length by 52cm depth by 180cm height.
