Set of six 18th century elm ladder-back chairs, shaped top rail and back with four serpentine-shaped horizontal slats, solid Elm wood panelled seats over hand shaped legs. Turned front stretcher with side and back stretchers. This is a rare & unique conforming set of six Elm, individually hand made country chairs dating from the 1780's. They are of medium size & likely unsuitable for "heavy people" use. Structurally perfect condition. Exceptional depth of finish & colour.
