A mid 18th century oak drop-side table. Table constructed in high grade English Oak, (not late 19th century  American plantation Oak). Tables such as this one were constructed from old growth trees, ( approx 600-800 years old) hand-hewn into planks & table legs turned on pole lathes. This is one of the best examples we have had through the store & is available for delivery now. This table has been constructed using the known cabinet techniques of the time, Sunken mortise & tenons, joined together with exposed pegged dowels. A method that has allowed this table to remain structurally perfect 265 years later. Made to sit either against a wall or open in the room. Table measures: Across, 101cm, fully open 135cm, closed 45cm, Height 76cm.
