A rare 17th century Oak Wainscot chair. Detailed scrolled cresting rail carved with the tree of life symbol between the stylised carved date, "1661" A year of great historical significance for England marked by the restoration of the Monarchy & the execution of Oliver Cromwell. Chair in excellent condition with no movement to frame. Solid planked oak seat, elongated out-swept arms raised on bobbin reel turned supports joined by four stretchers to the base. Excellent unaltered finish & good rich oak colour.
