Antique Italian Baroque Carved Oak Panelled Cassone / Chest, circa 1700. This is an antique Italian carved walnut Cassone of unusual oversized proportions, constructed at the end of the 17th century. Circa 1700. The walnut  slightly domed hinged lid with original hand-forged iron strap hinges. The front of the chest deeply carved with four arched panels in the Renaissance manner , each separated by carved pilasters.  Also Hand-forged iron carrying handles to both ends. A beautiful window seat, coffee table, end of bed chest/seat. Measures: Length 178cm, depth, 77cm, Height 64cm
